Released in late June of 2002, Upper Deck Inspirations features a 140-card set divided up as follows: cards 1-90 showcase full color player action photos with an orange and black marble background. The left border of the card is a solid orange line, and the right border features orange and black non-embossed basketball texturing. The Upper Deck Inspirations logo appears in the lower left hand corner. Cards 91-106 contain pictures of both a rookie player and a veteran player and are sequentially numbered to 2249. These vertical-style cards have a green backdrop on the right side where a portrait style photo of the veteran player appears along with the corresponding name, while the left side of the card contains a full color action photo of the featured rookie. The rookie name appears along the left hand side of the card. Cards 107-109 feature the same card design as the previous numbers, but are enhanced with player autographs and are sequentially numbered to 275. Cards 104-106 contain veteran player autographs only, and cards 107-109 contain rookie player autographs only. Cards 110-116 once again features the same card design with both rookie and veteran autographs, and are sequentially numbered to 1149. Cards 117-124 have a blue background and showcase a portrait style head shot of both players, the veteran player on the right and the rookie player on the left. These cards feature rookie jerseys only, which are cut in the shape of the letter "R." Each card is sequentially numbered to 1500, and card number 118 is a short print, sequentially numbered to 525. Cards 125-140 feature the same design as the previous rookie jerseys, but have jersey swatches from both rookies and veterans. The rookie jerseys are once again cut in an "R" shape, while the veteran swatches are cut in an "S" shape. Card numbers 141T-180T feature draft picks from the 2002-03 NBA Draft in New York. These cards were originally issued as redemptions, and are sequentially numbered as follows: 141T-152T #'d to 2999, 153T-164T #'d to 2699, 165T to 176T #'d to 1999, and 177T to 182T #'d to 499.
