The 1998 Collector's Edge First Place set was issued in one series with a total of 250 standard size cards. Packs retailed for $4.99 each. The fronts feature large color action shots. The featured player's name, team name, and team position are found along the bottom of the card, printed in gold foil, with the First Place logo in the upper left corner. A number of cards list the incorrect player's position on the front, but no corrected versions have ever been reported.
