Set Description: Released in June 2002, this 140-card base set includes 100 veterans and 40 rookies. The rookies are numbered to 1,250. Some Hot Boxes exist which contain a bonus pack with a memorabilia card of the team noted on the box. The card fronts feature a color action shot surrounded by a white border. The background resembles that of a game ticket. Special "Home Team Edition" foil boxes were produced for these teams: Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, and Philadelphia Eagles. Each of the Home Team boxes included additional cards from the second series (cards #141-230) of players from the team featured in that box as well as randomly seeded parallel inserts for that team. Due to market scarcity, the basic issue Hometown Heroes subset cards (#141-230) are not priced below.
