Set Description: The 2001 Upper Deck Vintage product released in late January,2001 and featured a 400-card base set. Each pack contained 10 cards, and carried a suggested retail price of $2.99 per pack. The set was broken into tiers as follows: Base Veterans (1-340), Prospects (341-370), Series Highlights (371-390) and League Leaders (391-400). A Sample card featuring Ken Griffey Jr. was distributed to dealers and hobby media several weeks prior to the product's release national release date. The card can be readily identified by the bold "SAMPLE" text running diagonally across the back.
