Set Description: This set is refered to as the "Speckled Orange, White and Blue Series." These unnumbered cards which made up the back of the Wheaties box measure 6" X 8 1/2". The set contains several different card designs. One design (DiMaggio and Feller) shows the player surrounded by orange spreckles on a white backgroung with a group of four blue and white drawings of players in action along the panel's right side. Another design shows the panel divided into four rectangles -- white at upper right and lower left and orange on the other two. -- with the players (Appling and Averill) leaping to catch the ball. Blue circles surrounded by orange and white speckles appear on the pictures of Hubbel and Grove. Medwick and Gehringer appear on white panels with a cloud of orange speckles behind them. The player's name in script style appears along with printed data about his 1936 season and a brief endorsement for the cereal.
