Set Description: This 1997 Topps set was issued in one series totaling 415 cards and distributed in 11-card packs with a suggested retail of $1.29. The first 385 cards feature the veteran players. The final 30-cards feature 1997 draft picks and were inserted 1:3 packs on average, making them short prints. The fronts feature color action player photos in a three-sided white border with a team color top and side margin. A special spot matte and gloss finish complement the design. The backs carry a small color player photo and career statistics. The set contains a 30-card subset of the 1997 NFL Draft Picks (#386-415) pictured in their new NFL team uniforms. Promo cards were released to promote the set and can only be differentiated by the green colored border on the cardback instead of gold.
