Set Description: Released in late November 2002, Upper Deck Generations was issued as a 234-card set with UD basketball's first stab at a pack within a pack. Each "pack" actually contained another pack, the outside was the New School pack which features glossy cards and the inside pack was the Old School pack which featured rougher cardboard cards. Generations breaks down as follows: numbers 1-50 were extra glossy veteran cards, numbers 51-92 are glossy RC cards sequentially numbered to 999, numbers 93-192 feature retired players on non-glossy cardboard, and cards 193-234 feature both single and dual player cards, both rookie year players and retired veterans. Cards 193-234 are sequentially numbered to 999. Generations was packaged in 18-pack boxes where packs contained five cards and carried a suggested retail price of $4.99.
