Set Description: Released in early May 2002, SP Authentic boasts a 165-card set divided up into 90 base cards, 50 rookie cards, numbers 91-140, and 15 Spectaculars, numbers 141-165, which are sequentially numbered to 1000. Veteran cards feature full color player action photos are set against a colored background centered on an all-white embossed card stock. The rookie cards are divided up as follows: card numbers 91-106 are sequentially numbered to 1600 and have gray scale portraits of the player, orange highlights, and a piece of film with a picture from a game. Card numbers 107-115 are sequentially numbered to 550 and share the same design. Card numbers 116-131 are sequentially numbered to 1525 and also feature the same design with green highlights instead of yellow, and have authentic player autographs instead of a film cell. Card numbers 132-140 are sequentailly numbered to 700 and are also autographed. SP Authentic was packaged in 24-pack boxes with packs containing five cards and carried a suggested retail price of $4.99.
