Set Description: The 1999 SkyBox Thunder set was issued in one series totalling 300 cards. The set was distributed in eight-card packs with a suggested retail price of $1.59. The fronts feature color action player photos with computer-enhanced graphics. The backs carry player information. The regular player cards (1-140) have an insertion rate of four or five per pack. Veteran stars (141-240) come two per pack. Superstars (241-300) are seeded 1:1. A sample card featuring Ben Grieve was distributed to dealers and hobby media several weeks prior to the product shipping. The card can be easily distinguished by the text "Promotional Sample" running diagonally across the front and back.
