Released in March, Black Diamond consists of a 198-card set that features four tiers for the veteran players and two for the rookies. The card design places a player on a card that is bordered only on the bottom and about a third of the way up on the left and right that contains the player's name, the card's highlight color and the diamond logo that indicates what tier the card falls into. Highlight colors are as follows: Single Dimond cards have blue highlights, Double Diamond cards have red highlights, Triple Diamond cards have green highlights and Quadruple Diamond cards have black highlights. The tiers break down as follows: cards 1-84 feature single Diamond Veterans, cards 85-126 are inserted at the rate of one in two packs and feature Double Diamond veterans, cards 127-147 are inserted at the rate of one in eight packs and feature Triple Diamond veterans, cards 148-162 are inserted at the rate of one in 30 packs and feature Quadruple Diamond veterans, cards 163-183 are inserted at the rate of one in eight packs and feature Triple Diamond rookies, and cards 184-198 are inserted at the rate of one in 30 packs and feature Quadruple Diamond rookies.
