Set Description: Released in April 2003, SP Authentic was issued as a 203-card set divided up as follows: Veteran cards 1-100, SP Specials veterans card numbers 101-142 (sequentially numbered to 2000), Autographed Rookies card numbers 143-174 (sequentially numbered to 1500), and Rookie cards numbers 175-203 (sequentially numbered to 1500). Several veteran players also had autographed versions of their base cards inserted into the product. These cards are denoted as "A" versions and are not included in the base set price or card count. Base cards have white borders and a white background with gray hatch marks along the left and right side of the card. SP Authentic was packaged in 24-pack boxes where packs contained five cards and carried a suggested retail price of $4.99.
