As a tribute to 100 years of college basketball, Courtside released this 45-card standard-size set, featuring some of the greatest players and coaches of the sport. It is reported that the production run was 199,000 sets, with 20 sets per individually numbered (from 1 to 9,950) case. Ten thousand autographed cards were randomly included with the sets; the exact number of players who signed is not known, but it is suspected that only a few did not sign. In exchange for the Courtside certificate found within each set, the collector received one of 25,000 promotional strips, featuring Larry Bird, David Robinson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The front features a color player photo cut out and superimposed on a background consisting of white and either red, green, or blue blocks. The backs carry a second color player photo and a brief career summary. The cards are numbered on the back. A promo version of card 41, Bill Walton, is known; its white back reads "The Big 9 Sports Card Show." Read Less »
