Set Description: The 2000 Fleer Greats of the Game set was released in late March, 2000 as a 107-card set that features some of the greatest players to ever play the game. There was only one series offered. Each pack contained six cards and carried a suggested retail price of 4.99. A promotional sample card featuring Nolan Ryan was distributed to dealers and hobby media several weeks before the product went live. Card fronts featured an attractive burgundy frame with (in most cases) a full color player image. Fueled by a great selection of autographs, the popular Yankee Clippings game-used jersey inserts and the aforementioned superior design of the base set, the product turned out to be one of the most popular releases of the 2000 calendar.
