Set Description: The 1998 Topps Stars set was issued in one series totalling 150 standard size cards. The six-card packs retail for $3.00 each. The 20 pt. stock cards are borderless with a matte gold-foil stamping and UV coating. The set is sequentially numbered within one of five groups: Red Star (1 of 8799), Bronze Star (1 of 8799), Silver Star (1 of 3999), Gold Star (1 of 1999) and Gold Star Rainbow (1 of 99). Red Star and Bronze Star are considered regular cards. The player selection and categories are also based upon the five-star system which includes: Arm Strength, Accuracy, Mobility, Consistency and Leadership. A complete checklist card of the 1998 Topps Stars set was seeded in packs at the rate of 1:5.
