The 1993-94 Leaf hockey set consisted of 440 standard-size cards that were issued in two series of 220. The fronts displayed color action player photos that were full-bleed except at the bottom, where a red diagonal edges the picture. Below the diagonal was a black stripe carrying the player's name in gold foil lettering, and a team color-coded triangle displaying the team logo. Against the background of the home team's skyline or another prominent architectural landmark, the backs carried a color action player cut-out overprinted at the bottom with biographical and statistical information. A holographic team logo appeared in the lower right corner. Rookie Cards included Jason Arnott, Damian Rhodes and Jocelyn Thibault. An oversized (8" by 11 3/4") blowup of Mario Lemieux's card #1 was distributed as a promotional item in advance of the release of the set. The card was primarily handed out at the National Convention in Chicago.
