Set Description: This 90-card set (produced by Upper Deck) was distributed in four-card packs with a suggested retail price of $4.99. The set features color action photos of top MLB players printed on super-thick, double-laminated, metalized cards. The set contains a 30-card short-printed subset, Techno (61-90), of which cards were randomly inserted in packs at the rate of one in four. A game-used bat from Hall of Fame slugger Frank Robinson was cut up and incorporated into 370 special 500 Home Run Bat Cards. Robinson signed 20 of these cards. Pack odds for these cards was not officially released, but suffice to say, they're few and far between. Pricing for these bat cards can be referenced under 1999 Upper Deck A Piece of History 500 Club. In addition, a Ken Griffey Jr. sample card was distributed to dealers and hobby media several weeks prior to the product's release. The card can be readily identified by the bold "SAMPLE" text running diagonally across the back.
