The 1968-69 O-Pee-Chee set contained 216 standard-size color cards. Included are players from the six expansion teams: Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Minnesota, Los Angeles and Oakland. The cards were originally sold in five-cent wax packs. The horizontally oriented fronts featured the player in the foreground with an artistically rendered hockey scene in the background. The bilingual backs were printed in red and black ink. The player's 1967-68 and career statistics, a short biography, and a cartoon-illustrated fact about the player were included on the back. The cards were printed in Canada and were issued by O-Pee-Chee, even though the Topps Gum copyright is found on the reverse. For the most part, the cards were grouped by teams. However, numerous cards are updated to reflect off-season transactions. The O-Pee-Chee set featured many different poses from the corresponding Topps cards.
