Released in early February 2002, Fleer Force was a 180-card set divided up into 150 veteran player cards, which feature a white backdrop with player action photos set against an artist drawn portrait close-up of the player's face, and 30 rookie cards set up in a horizontal design with player portrait photos and gold foil stamping set against a basketball court style backdrop. The player photos appear along the left side of the card, and the player's number and the word "Rookie" appears on the right side. All of the cards in the set hava a colored strip set above the bottom border of the card containing the player's name, team, and position. The rookie cards have a number box in this strip on the right side of the card and are sequentially numbered to 999. The first 300 serially numbered rookie cards contain a postage stamp and a post office stamp of the city and date that the player made his league debut in.
