Released in mid January 2001, this 160-card set features 90 base cards sequentially numbered to 1500, 45 rookie cards, numbers 91-135, sequentially numbered to 1325, the first 855 of which were graded and inserted at the rate of one in two packs, and 25 autographed rookie cards, numbers 136-165, where card numbers 136-155 are sequentially numbered to 500 and card numbers 156-165 are sequentially numbered to 250. Of the autographed rookie cards, a total of 1217 cards were not graded, and graded versions were inserted at the rate of one in six packs. Card numbers 138, 139, 147, 148, and 163 were not issued. Cards are white along the top and the bottom with grey stripes, vertical on base cards and horizontal on rookie subsets, silver foil highlights and color player photographs. Serial numbers are placed on all of the card fronts. Graded versions of this set were encased with a blue SGC label so as not to be confused with cards graded after the initial packout.
