Set Description: The 1955 Bowman set of 160 cards was Bowman's last sports issue before the company was purchased by Topps in January of 1956. The cards were issued in seven-card, five-cent packs and one-card penny packs and measure approximately 2 1/2" by 3 3/4". The fronts contain player photos with the player name and team logo at the bottom and the team name at the top. The card backs are printed in red and blue on gray card stock and a short player bio is included. On the bottom of most of the card backs is a play diagram. Cards 65-160 are slightly more difficult to obtain. The notable Rookie Cards in this set are Alan Ameche, Len Ford, Frank Gatski, John Henry Johnson, Mike McCormack, Jim Ringo, Bob St. Clair, and Pat Summerall.
